Join the Terman PTA!

Have you joined the Terman PTA yet? If yes, thank you! If not, why should you?

Well, here are a few reasons. Each PAUSD school has their own PTA, so even if you are a member of another school PTA (say at a PAUSD elementary or high school), that membership is not reciprocal with Terman. Each school has their own, nontransferable PTA membership. We encourage you to become a member of the Terman PTA because the organization is an intrinsic part of your child’s middle school experience both in and outside the classroom.

For either $10/individual adult or $20/two adults (we recommend both parents/guardians join at the $20 level), you will support important school programs, events, and projects that directly benefit your child. For example, the PTA provides scholarships for 6th grade science camp (we are the only Palo Alto middle school to still have science camp), teacher grants and mini-funds for class enrichment materials, special events and programs for students and parents, as well as campus improvement projects.

Although the membership dues collected are not a large portion of the Terman PTA’s budget (compared to the revenue generated from the PTA Direct Appeal and eScrip programs), joining the PTA gives you a voice and a vote to guide the Terman PTA regarding expenditures, programs, events, and even recommendations to the school administration on school-related issues. Member input steers the focus and direction of the Terman PTA and most definitely impacts your child’s educational and social experiences at Terman.
